| Obverse description | Blue-grey letterpress print on white paper. The central composition is divided into two vignettes: at left, a large scalloped oval underprint surrounds the Chinese numeral and denomination inscription 伍圓 (Five Yuan); at right, an oval vignette illustrates a rural agricultural scene of workers drawing water in a field landscape.
