Obverse description Central field dominated by two confronted imperial dragons rendered in high relief, their sinuous bodies intertwined and facing each other across the field, claws displayed and tails curling outward. The Hanja legend reading 大朝鮮 (Great Joseon) appears to the left, with the Korean hangul denomination 닷량 to the lower left, all enclosed within a beaded inner border. The date legend 開國五百一年 (Gaeuk year 501, corresponding to 1892) is inscribed across the upper field in Hanja characters. Along the lower periphery, the denomination and fineness specification 416·5 YANG·900 is rendered in Latin characters between two bullet stops, separated from the central motif by the beaded circle. The entire design is contained within a toothed outer border.
