| Additional information |
Issued under Emperor Sunjong during the final, effectively powerless years of the Joseon dynasty — by 1908 Japan's Residency-General under Itō Hirobumi controlled Korean fiscal policy outright — this gold coinage was among the last struck in the name of Korean imperial authority before annexation in 1910 rendered the series obsolete. The mintage was small, the circulation period measured in months.
