| Obverse description | Bare-headed left-facing bust of Ferdinand I, King of the Two Sicilies, wearing a laurel wreath crown adorned with foliage, with curled hair visible at the nape. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a neoclassical style. The circular Latin legend runs along the entire periphery, reading FERD·I·D·G·REGNI SICILIARVM ET HIER·REX, identifying the monarch by name and title. A raised inner border frames the field. The portrait is bold and well-modelled, consistent with the official coinage style of the Naples Mint in the early Restoration period. |
