Obverse description Left-facing bust portrait of Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar rendered in high relief, depicting the Shah in a richly decorated military uniform with epaulettes and elaborate gold-embroidered chest ornaments. He wears the distinctive Qajar karakul cap surmounted by an aigrette of feathers, a hallmark of royal Qajar portraiture. The facial features are finely modelled, showing a short moustache and beard. The portrait is set within a plain inner field surrounded by a closely spaced beaded border running the full circumference of the coin.

Reverse description The reverse features a bold multi-line Arabic calligraphic inscription in the nasta'liq script filling the central field, recording the full royal titulature and denomination. The legend is enclosed within a border of alternating rosette or six-pointed star ornaments and pellets, itself surrounded by the reeded rim. The inscription identifies the mint city of Tehran (طهران), the regnal titles of Mozaffar al-Din Shah, the Hijri date 1314, and the denomination 'Dah Toman' (ده تومان — ten tomans), confirming the use of the 10-Toman reverse die that characterises this mule issue.
