Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription naming the ruler, reading 'السلطان مظفرالدین شاه قاجار', arranged in three lines within a plain inner circle. The AH date 1317 appears in the lower portion of the central field. A single-line poetic Persian verse encircles the design in the outer border, separated from the central inscription by a beaded inner ring. The overall composition is purely epigraphic, with no portrait or figurative imagery, in the tradition of Qajar royal coinage.
