| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chữ Nôm characters arranged in a cruciform pattern reading 嗣德通寶 (Tự Đức Thông Bảo), denoting the reign title and monetary designation of Emperor Tự Đức. A stylized six-petaled floral rosette occupies the center between the four characters. The entire design is enclosed within a decorative inner border of overlapping cloud or wave scrolls, itself surrounded by an outer beaded border running the full circumference of the coin. |
