| Reverse description | Central square perforation framed by a raised square border, flanked on the left by the Chinese characters 會 and on the right by 契, indicating denomination or treasury marks. Surrounding the central aperture is an elaborate dragon motif rendered in high relief: a horned dragon's head appears at the top, its sinuous, scaled body coiling around the square hole, with a tail descending into stylised waves at the bottom. The composition is richly detailed and typical of the ornate decorative vocabulary employed on higher-denomination Nguyễn dynasty gold cash coinage. |
