| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King George IV facing left, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The king wears a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon, whose trailing ends are visible at the nape of the neck. The portrait, engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci, displays finely detailed hair curls and strong facial features. The circular legend reads GEORGIUS IV D·G·BRIT·&·HANOV·REX F·D·, with a star stop, running around the periphery. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
