Obverse description Crowned quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg displayed on an ornate cartouche, the shield bearing multiple heraldic quarters including lions and other dynastic devices, surmounted by a royal crown. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIUS D.G. PRINC. REGENS, identifying George, Prince Regent by the grace of God, arching around the upper field. The design is rendered in high relief with fine engraving characteristic of early 19th-century German gold coinage.
