| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Ernest August of Hannover, rendered with fine portrait detail including a prominent mustache and beard, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The engraver's signature H. BRENMER appears beneath the truncation of the neck. The circular legend ERNST AUGUST KOENIG V. HANNOVER runs along the upper periphery, while the mintmark B appears at the base below the portrait. The rim is decorated with a continuous dentilated border. |
