Obverse description Central field displays the crowned interlinked monogram 'CL' of Duke Christian Ludwig, set within a laurel wreath. Surrounding the monogram are twelve heraldic shields representing the various territories and claims of the Brunswick-Lüneburg dynasty, each surmounted by a crown, arranged symmetrically across the field. The circular Latin legend reads SINCERE ET CONSTANTER, with the date ANNO 1654 and the denomination indicator '5' flanked by the initials LW (mintmaster) appearing at the lower portion. The entire design is enclosed within a decorative beaded or rope border characteristic of large multiple-thaler Löser pieces.
