Obverse description Central device depicts the crowned Bohemian lion rampant to left, rendered in high relief with detailed mane and double tail. The legend REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ curves around the periphery, with the individual letters arranged in an artistic, somewhat scattered typographic composition characteristic of the early Czechoslovak design aesthetic. The date 1920 appears in the lower field, flanked by a small decorative rosette mintmark at the base. The overall design was executed by the renowned Czech medallic sculptor Otakar Španiel.
