Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted as a right-facing crowned bust with short, neatly styled hair and a small drop earring visible below the ear. The Queen wears the George IV State Diadem, rendered with exceptional relief and fine granular detail. The engraver's initials IRB appear on the truncation below the bust. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH·II·DEI·GRA·REGINA·FID·DEF, separated by raised dots, and the coin is bordered by a finely milled inner dentilated rim.
