Obverse description Central crowned coat of arms bearing four vertical pales (bars), characteristic of the arms of Aragon-Catalonia, with the numeral value flanking the shield on either side. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design, confined between two concentric beaded borders. The overall style is consistent with hammered coinage of the mid-seventeenth-century Iberian tradition, with the heraldic shield as the dominant design element within the field.

Reverse description A bold long cross extending to the beaded border divides the field into four quarters, with an annulet positioned in the first and fourth angles and three bezants (pellets) arranged in the second and third angles. A Latin legend incorporating the city name and date is distributed around the perimeter, contained between two beaded concentric circles. The cross-and-bezant design is a hallmark of Catalan civic coinage of the period, here attributed to the mint of Gerona.
