Rudaki — regarded as the father of classical Persian poetry — lived and composed in the 9th and 10th centuries, yet the precise date of his birth remains unknown. Tajikistan's 1150th birthday attribution anchors to a scholarly estimate, not a documented record. The Samanid court poet died around 940 AD, reportedly blind in his final years, and was largely forgotten outside academic circles until Soviet-era cultural policy actively rehabilitated him as a founding figure of Tajik national identity.
