| Obverse description | Black intaglio print on multicolor guilloche underprint in red and blue. A central oval vignette contains a classical portrait of Liberty facing three-quarters right, wearing a star-adorned helmet, framed by ornate scrollwork. Large numeral '5' counters appear to the left and right of the vignette, with the bank title across the top, denomination legend and date at the bottom, and red serial numbers printed twice in letterpress. |
