Obverse description Draped bust of Carlo Emmanuele III facing right, wearing a long curled wig in the baroque style typical of early 18th-century Savoyard coinage. The effigy is rendered in moderate relief with visible drapery at the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading CAR·EM·D·G·REX SAR·CYP·ET·IER·, identifying the monarch as King of Sardinia, Cyprus, and Jerusalem by the grace of God. The field is plain, and the legend is separated from the rim by a faint border.
