| Obverse description | Laureate draped bust of George III facing right, modelled after the portrait engraved by Conrad Heinrich Küchler. The legend GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA REX runs along the periphery in Latin script. The effigy presents the king with a classical laurel wreath crown, rendered in the neoclassical style characteristic of late 18th-century British coinage. The fine detail of the drapery at the truncation and the strong relief of the portrait reflect Küchler's distinctive engraving technique. |
