Reverse description The reverse features a stylised octagonal chain-link device formed by eight interlocked oval links, symbolising Commonwealth unity, set within the circular field. At the apex, above the date '1966' flanking it on either side, a St. Edward's Crown is prominently displayed in high relief. Within the central space enclosed by the chain device, a four-line commemorative inscription in bold raised lettering reads 'VIII BRITISH EMPIRE AND COMMONWEALTH GAMES GAMES KINGSTON JAMAICA', recording the host city and nation of the 1966 Games. A beaded border frames the entire design.
