Duncan Ndegwa served as Central Bank of Kenya Governor from 1967 to 1982, making him the dominant signatory across virtually the entire early independence note series. The multiple signature combinations on Pick 11 reflect successive deputy governor appointments during the mid-1970s — Iganaga and later L. Mutenge each appear paired with Ndegwa as those positions turned over, which gives the series more variety than its short date range might suggest.

Bradbury Wilkinson printed for numerous newly independent African central banks during this period. The New Malden works closed in 1990 when De La Rue absorbed the operation.
