Obverse description Central field bears the mint name (Tabriz) and regnal date inscribed in flowing Nasta'liq script without a cartouche, accompanied by the Shi'a devotional legend 'Bandeh-ye Shah-e Velayat Hussein' (Servant of the King of Sanctity, Hussein), all executed in bold relief on the characteristic irregular hammered planchet. The inscription is arranged in multiple registers across the field, with the script exhibiting the fluid calligraphic style typical of late Safavid coinage.
