| Obverse description | Hammered rectangular flan with a prominent beaded border encircling the entire field. The central field bears a multi-line Persian royal inscription in bold nasta'liq script, reading the devotional legend of Shah Sultan Husayn identifying him as servant of the lord of sovereignty. The mint name Esfahan (Isfahan) appears prominently in the lower register, with the regnal year 1127 AH visible in the upper portion of the inscription. The calligraphy is deeply struck and occupies nearly the entire flan, with floral rosette ornaments interspersed among the letterforms as decorative devices. |

| Reverse description | Hammered rectangular flan enclosed by a continuous beaded border. The field displays the Shi'a Kalima in three lines of bold nasta'liq script, comprising the standard Islamic profession of faith followed by the distinctively Twelver Shi'a declaration of Ali as the vicegerent of God. The inscription is deeply incused and fills the available flan, with the text arranged in horizontal registers. The calligraphic execution is vigorous and characteristic of Safavid hammered coinage of the early eighteenth century. |
