Reverse description The reverse displays a prominent scalloped floral cartouche surrounding the central round hole, filled with relief sakura blossoms and buds on branching stems. The surrounding field is covered with a seigaiha wave pattern, against which the four-character legend identifying the issuer and regnal date is distributed across the quarters of the field. A continuous beaded border frames the entire design near the rim.
