Obverse description Central field dominated by the Imperial Chrysanthemum Seal rendered in high relief, depicting a stylized sixteen-petalled chrysanthemum blossom viewed from above with a central boss. The denomination numeral 五 (five) appears to the right of the seal and the denomination unit 錢 (sen) to the left, both in raised Kanji characters. The design is contained within a beaded inner border, itself set within a raised rim, giving the obverse a clean, architecturally balanced appearance.
