Obverse description	Brown letterpress note with a vignette of a female figure in traditional Sumatran dress at left, flanked by decorative foliage. The large denomination numeral and word 'LIMA RUPIAH' are printed in bold central text, with the date 'BUKITTINGGI, 17-12-1947' and the Governor's manuscript signature below. The marginal underprint carries the repeated word 'RIAU' in a patterned border, and the lower panel bears the inscriptions 'REPUBLIK INDONESIA' and 'PROPINSI SUMATERA'. A red overprint reading 'BERLAKU UNTUK DAERAH RIAU' with serial number and prefix is applied across the upper portion.
