Obverse description Central device features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted in high relief with three lions visible above an abacus adorned with a Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a galloping horse and bull in the lower register. The national motto in Devanagari script, 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs'), appears immediately below the capital. The denomination numeral '5' is prominently struck in the lower field, with the legend 'भारत' (Bharat) arcing along the left periphery and 'INDIA' along the upper right, while 'RUPEES' curves along the right border.
