| Obverse description | The Ashoka Lion Capital, the state emblem of India, is depicted in high relief at the center of the obverse, resting on an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra wheel. The denomination numeral '5' appears prominently in the lower field, flanked by the legend 'RUPEES' to the right in Latin script and 'रूपया' in Devanagari to the left. The country name 'INDIA' arcs along the upper right periphery in Latin script, while 'भारत' arcs along the upper left in Devanagari. The national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Truth Alone Triumphs) is inscribed on the abacus below the lion capital. |
