Obverse description The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted centrally with three lions visible atop an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a horse and bull in relief. Immediately below the capital appears the Devanagari legend 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth alone triumphs'), and the large numeral '5' occupies the lower field. The country name 'INDIA' is inscribed in Latin script along the right periphery and 'भारत' in Devanagari along the left, with 'RUPEES' completing the denomination legend on the right. The entire design is bordered by a continuous ring of raised beads.
