Reverse description Central field features a large, bold numeral '5' rendered in a decorative engraved style with fine horizontal line shading, dominating the coin's face. Overlaid across the numeral are the trilingual denomination inscriptions: රුපියල් පහයි in Sinhala, ஐந்து ரூபாய் in Tamil, and FIVE RUPEES in Latin, arranged in three horizontal lines. The country name SRI LANKA in Latin, with the Sinhala ශ්‍රී ලංකා and Tamil இலங்கை equivalents, arcs around the upper periphery. The issue year 2006 is inscribed in the lower exergue. The rim is bordered by a continuous dentilated pattern.
