Reverse description The left portion of the note is occupied by a plain watermark window set within an ornate arched frame surmounted by the national arms and flanked by decorative temple columns. To the right, an intaglio vignette presents a pair of yaks grazing on a high-altitude plain, with a snow-capped mountain range — evoking Mount Everest — rendered in fine engraving as the background. The denomination appears in Devanagari script and Roman lettering along the lower panel.

Nepal Rastra Bank's P#60 series ran across an unusually long window for a low denomination — nearly a decade without a significant redesign update, which is partly explained by the political turbulence Nepal endured during this period. The country abolished its monarchy in 2008, mid-run, meaning notes printed in the early years of this series circulated under a king and later ones under a federal republic, with no change to the note itself reflecting that constitutional rupture.

The single watermark is the only security feature, modest even by regional standards for the denomination.
