Obverse description The full coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield depicting a palm tree, sea, and tortoise, supported on either side by a billfish (marlin), with a white-tailed tropicbird serving as the crest above. A scroll at the base bears the national motto FINIS CORONAT OPUS. The circumferential legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1977 flanked by two raised dots positioned at the lower margin.

Reverse description A stylised coco de mer palm tree (Lodoicea maldivica), a species endemic to the Seychelles, dominates the field, rendered in bold relief with spreading fronds fanning to either side and large clusters of distinctive double coconuts visible among the trunk.
