| Obverse description | An oval vignette at left bears a portrait of King George VI in military uniform, set against an intricate guilloche underprint in purple and green tones across the centre of the note. Denomination numeral '5' appears at the upper corners within ornamental frames, and two facsimile signatures of the Commissioners of Currency are printed below the central guilloche. The serial number and prefix appear twice in black, with the issue date inscribed beneath the signatures. |
