Two cowrie shells appear at the lower left, symbols of the historic Maldivian currency. Serial numbers are printed in vertical orientation along the left margin and in horizontal format at the lower right.

Reverse description	The central vignette presents two traditional Maldivian fishing vessels at sea, their crews actively engaged in line fishing, executed in detailed intaglio engraving against a light blue guilloche underprint. A large ornate numeral "5" set within scrollwork occupies the lower left, flanked by floral and foliate decorative motifs. The issuer's name is inscribed in a banner along the lower margin, with the denomination repeated in the upper right corner.
