Reverse description Central composition depicts the façade of the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts in Yerevan, shown in perspective with its grand staircase, flanking gardens, a decorative torch column to the left, and a seated statue of Mesrop Mashtots at the base of the steps. In the lower left field, an open illuminated manuscript scroll bears Armenian script text. To the lower right, a quill pen and ink vessel are depicted. The legend 'ՄԱՏԵՆԱԴԱՐԱՆ' (Matenadaran) in Armenian script arcs along the upper border, while the Cyrillic inscription 'еревaн' (Yerevan) and the date '1959' appear to the right of center in the field.
