| Obverse description | The silver centre features the Russian state emblem — a double-headed eagle with wings displayed, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, without a shield on its breast, as prescribed for Bank of Russia coinage. A dotted inner border separates the central device from the gold outer ring. The legend БАНК РОССИЙ (BANK OF RUSSIA) arcs along the lower portion of the silver centre, flanked by the fineness marks Ag 925 to the left and 16.2 to the right. The gold ring bears the denomination ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ (FIVE ROUBLES) along the upper arc and the date 2008 Г. along the lower arc, with the fineness Au 999 to the lower left and the weight indicator 23.3 to the lower right, all separated by small circular stops; the Saint Petersburg Mint privy mark (СПМД) appears on the right side of the ring. |

| Reverse description | The silver centre presents a detailed panoramic view of the Alexandrov Kremlin (Alexandrovskaya Sloboda), depicting the main cathedral complex with multiple onion domes surmounted by Orthodox crosses, a prominent gateway structure with arched portals in the foreground, and flanking ecclesiastical buildings set among trees against a mirror-polished field. The architectural composition is rendered in fine frosted relief, conveying the historic character of this ancient Russian fortified residence. The gold outer ring is smooth and dark-toned, bearing the Cyrillic legend АЛЕКСАНДРОВ (ALEXANDROV) in raised gilt lettering along the lower arc. |
