Obverse description Small, densely struck gold flan bearing a prominent Arabic legend filling the entire field in large, bold calligraphic script. The obverse carries the Ottoman Sultan's honorific inscription reading 'Abdulhamid Khan son of Abdulmejid, ever victorious,' arranged in flowing thuluth-style Arabic characters across multiple lines. A fine beaded border encircles the periphery. The design is characteristic of late Ottoman Tunisian coinage, with the legend occupying virtually the entire coin surface without a central device.
