Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of Paul von Hindenburg, Reichspräsident, rendered in high relief within a raised inner circle. The portrait, modelled by Rudolf Bosselt, conveys a powerful, naturalistic likeness with close-cropped hair and a prominent moustache. The circular legend DEUTSCHES REICH · 5 REICHSMARK arcs along the upper periphery between the inner circle and the rim. Below the bust, a horizontal bar separates the portrait field from a lower panel bearing the two-line inscription V. HINDENBURG / REICHS-PRÄSIDENT.
