Reverse description A large medieval cog or Hanseatic sailing vessel depicted in high relief, shown underway on stylized waves with billowing sails and rigging rendered in fine detail. The denomination numeral 5 appears at the upper left of the ship's mast, flanked by the partial legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcing along the upper periphery and the date 1926 along the lower left. The mint mark D is positioned at the bottom center, and the design is framed by a beaded inner border consistent with the obverse.
