Obverse description The Imperial German eagle displayed with spread wings and head turned to the left occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed feathering. Oak sprigs flank the eagle on either side, serving as decorative separators between the surrounding legends. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs along the upper periphery in Fraktur blackletter script, while the denomination 5 REICHSMARK curves along the lower periphery in the same typeface. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
