| Obverse description | Central crowned coat of arms of Catalonia (the four pales of Aragon), flanking the denomination value divided at either side. The design is contained within two concentric beaded circles, with the circular Latin legend PRINCIPATVS CATALONIE running around the periphery. The entire composition reflects the emergency siege coinage style of mid-17th century Catalonia, with characteristically irregular flan and rough hammered execution. |

| Reverse description | A plain long cross extending to the inner beaded circle divides the field into four quadrants; the 1st and 4th quarters bear an annulet, while the 2nd and 3rd quarters each contain three bezants (pellets arranged in a triangular grouping). A Latin legend reading CIVITAS GERVN 1641 runs around the periphery between two beaded circles, recording the issuing city of Girona and the date of emission. The overall design is characteristic of Catalan municipal emergency coinage struck during the Reapers' War. |
