| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Abdulmecid I, rendered in fine calligraphic style with characteristic intertwined loops and vertical strokes. A small floral sprig motif appears to the upper right of the tughra. The Arabic numeral ٥ (5), denoting the denomination in qirsh, is inscribed in the lower central field beneath the tughra. The coin is bordered by a uniform inner beaded circle running along the entire periphery, with a plain raised rim beyond. |
