| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, rendered in the classic Ottoman style with its characteristic upward projecting shafts (tuğ) and interlaced loops. A decorative floral ornament (flower) is positioned to the right of the tughra. The denomination numeral '٥' (5) appears in the lower field below the tughra. The coin is bordered by a finely beaded inner circle running along the rim. |
