| Reverse description | A stylized double-headed imperial eagle, adapted from the Russian state emblem, occupies the central field, bearing crowned heads, sceptre, and orb, with shield-bearing wings displayed. Directly below the eagle, the denomination ПЯТЬ ПЯДЕЙ is inscribed in two lines across the centre of the field, followed by the date 2023 in the lower exergue. The Cyrillic legend ПЕРВОПРОХОДЦЫ ЗЕМЛИ РУССКОЙ (Pioneers of the Russian Land) arcs around the left and lower periphery, with the mint mark ММД implied within the design. A fine milled border encircles the entire reverse. |

Przhevalsky led four major expeditions into Central Asia between 1870 and 1885, mapping territories largely unknown to European science and collecting thousands of zoological and botanical specimens. He died in 1888 at Karakol — renamed Przhevalsk in his honor — before completing a planned fifth journey into Tibet.
