Obverse description A large circular guilloche watermark window occupies the left field, while an intaglio vignette of the golden death mask of Tutankhamun is positioned at the right. The centre carries an ornate floral arabesque underprint with the Arabic denomination and date of issue, flanked by serial numbers in both upper and lower registers. The issuer's title appears in a decorative panel across the top, with numeral '5' counters in each corner.

Reverse description A large guilloche rosette enclosing the numeral '5' and the '£E' monogram forms the left vignette, balanced by a circular watermark window at the right. An elaborate symmetrical arabesque scroll pattern fills the centre field, with a secondary guilloche rosette bearing the numeral '5' at the lower centre. The denomination in English appears along the lower margin and in the side panels, with 'L.E.' and '5' numerals at each corner.
