Issued in honor of Susanne Mubarak, wife of President Hosni Mubarak, this coin was struck roughly one year before the January 25th Revolution forced her husband from power after nearly three decades. He was convicted in 2012, and Susanne herself faced asset-freezing orders during the post-revolution investigations. Coins commemorating her were quietly withdrawn from official promotion.
