Obverse description Central device depicting a stylised Egyptian vulture with wings spread wide, rendered in the manner of ancient Egyptian heraldic art, occupying the lower half of the field. Above the vulture, the legend 'A·R·E' (Arab Republic of Egypt) appears in the central field, flanked by the denomination '5 LE' to the left and its Arabic equivalent '٥' to the right. The Arabic inscription 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) arcs across the upper central field beneath a lotus flower motif. Dual dates are inscribed along the lower border in both Western and Arabic-Indic numerals: '1414 / 1993' to the left and '١٤١٤ / ١٩٩٣' to the right. The mintmark 'E CC' appears at the bottom of the field beneath the vulture.
