Alexandria University was founded in 1938 as Farouk I University, renamed after the 1952 revolution that deposed the king. This 1992 issue marks the institution's fiftieth year under its post-revolutionary identity — a distinction worth noting, since the founding date itself is sometimes miscounted depending on whether the royalist name is included in the lineage.
