Reverse description The central device reproduces in high relief the design of the celebrated 1847 Post Office Mauritius Two Pence stamp, one of the world's rarest philatelic items, depicting a left-facing diademed bust of Queen Victoria within a rectangular stamp frame bearing the legends POSTAGE at the top, POST OFFICE on the left, MAURITIUS on the right, and TWO PENCE at the base, engraved after William Wyon's original design. The stamp vignette is set against a cross-hatched background within the frame and surrounded by a decorative border with engine-turned patterning at the corners and along the rim. The circular outer legend, divided into four segments by the stamp's corners, reads 160TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNIFORM PENNY POST and UNIFORM PENNY POST. The denomination 5 POUNDS appears in the lower exergue beneath the stamp design.
