Additional information

Issued to mark the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II, this is the silver proof variant of a commemorative program Guernsey released alongside several other Channel Island dependencies producing their own Jubilee coinage that year. Guernsey has maintained its own coinage rights as a Crown dependency outside the United Kingdom proper, meaning its issues are legal tender on the island but not in Britain itself.

The title "The Work Continues" references the Queen's active public duties at the fifty-year mark of her reign — a pointed contrast to earlier jubilee rhetoric.
